The Fellowship of the Rainbow™ Origin Story
Before you found this page, something found you first.
Not a prophecy. Not a destiny. Somethig quieter. A pull. The feeling of a door you can’t see, but keep walking past.
That’s how most people find the Sparkleverse™. Not all at once. A word that lands wrong in a way that turns out to be right. A story that does something to the inside of your chest. The moment you realize you’ve been waiting for a place without knowing there was a place to wait for.
I’m Crystal. The Dreaming Witch, and Road Keeper of the Sparkleverse™. I tend the gate.
This is how the Fellowship began.
First, there were forces.
Before the Fellowship had a name, before it had five members or five Houses or a single traveler walking through, there were forces.
Fire. Water. Earth. Air. Spirit.
They had been forces since the dawn of creation. Long before the Sparkleverse™ had villages or roads or a school of magic. Long before I arrived. They moved through everything, had no particular shape, and didn’t need one.
Then I dreamed.
I don’t know how to explain this part more cleanly than I’ve already tried. I’m the Dreaming Witch. Dreaming is what I do. And one night, or what the dreaming counts as night, I dreamed five shapes. Not characters. Not archetypes. Shapes.
- A flame that had a personality.
- A current with opinions.
- A wind that noticed things.
- A stillness that had been walking for centuries.
- A small, ancient thing in a tree that already knew my name.
I didn’t design them. I opened a door, and they walked through it as themselves.
Ember arrived loud and hungry, already asking about pie, already mid-argument with something. Marina arrived with a book, already mid-page, already reading the current. Skyborn arrived and said nothing, which turned out to be everything. Harmony arrived on a road she’d been walking alone for longer than I’d known roads existed. Willow arrived by not arriving at all, just being in a tree, already there, already watching.
They had names before I gave them names. The names were just catching up.
Then they found each other.
Once they had shape and names, they recognized something. In each other and in the road, and in the thing that was starting to take form around them. The Sparkleverse™ was growing. Villages were appearing. The Sparkleverse™ School of Magic was opening its doors. The road was getting longer and needed more than one keeper.
They didn’t call a meeting. Nobody sent a summons. It was more like what happens when people who should know each other finally end up in the same room. A long pause, recognition, and the feeling of something that’s been missing clicking into place.
Skyborn was the first to say anything, because he’s the one who notices the shape of things before anyone else sees it. He looked at the four of them and said quietly, one word. “Hmm.”
They all understood this meant “yes.”
Ember ate the last of the pie and said, “Awesome. So we’re doing this.” She spread her wings, and a small fire started something. She chose not to comment on it.
Marina looked at all of them for a long moment, reading the current the way she reads everything. Then she said, “I have some thoughts on how this should work.” She had, in fact, already been writing them down.
Harmony said nothing immediately. She dimmed her horn by exactly one shade, which the others would eventually learn meant she was about to say something true. Then she said, “Perfectly splendid.” And that was her vow. They all knew it.
Willow looked at something just past Skyborn’s left shoulder that nobody else could see. Then she looked at the rest of them and said, “There’s a small one that’s been watching. It’s curious about all of you.” A pause. “It thinks this is going to work.”
The Fellowship of the Rainbow™ was formed on a road that didn’t have a name yet, by five beings who had been elemental forces for longer than anyone had been counting. This was the moment they decided to stop being forces and start being forces for something.
The something was you. Or people like you. Or the door between worlds. Or all of it, which is the Sparkleverse™ answer to most questions.
what the fellowship is
The Fellowship of the Rainbow™ is not a club. Ember would like me to make that very clear. It’s a road, and people are walking it. Five Guardians, five Houses, and the travelers who show up because something pulled them here, and they finally stopped talking themselves out of following the pull.
Each Guardian tends a House. Each House holds a different kind of magic, a different way of moving through the world, a different set of gifts that look like too much until you’re somewhere that knows what to do with them.
Marina the Mermaid
The House of the Emerald Heart is for the ones who feel everything and are still learning that the depth is not the problem.
Ember the Dragon
The House of the Ruby Flame is for the ones who burn bright and are still figuring out what to build with all that fire.
Willow the Fairy
The House of the Amethyst Root is for the ones who notice what everyone else walks past and are still learning that the noticing is the gift, not the liability.
Skyborn the Griffin
The House of the Sapphire Gaze is for the ones who see the whole map and are still learning to trust what they see.
Harmony the Unicorn
The House of the Golden Sun is for the ones who know things they can’t source and are still learning to act on what they know.
One of these is yours. You probably already know which one, or have a suspicion. Take the Free House Quiz and Find Out!
why the fellowship exists
The Sparkleverse™ doesn’t need to exist. It just exists. The villages have their own weather. The road runs whether or not anyone is walking it. The Guardians have their work regardless of whether travelers show up.
But the Fellowship, specifically, is the place where worlds touch. Where people from one side of the gate find their way to the other side. Where you stop dreaming the Sparkleverse™ from a distance and start walking it from the inside.
It is not about becoming something new. You are not a project. You are not broken, and the Fellowship is not a fix.
It’s more that you’ve been carrying something without a name for it, and the Fellowship is the place where things get names. Where your particular kind of magic gets a House. Where the five beings who dreamed themselves awake through a witch’s door are waiting to tell you they recognize you from the current, from the fire, from the watching, from the road, from the tree. That’s why you’re here.
